Ummm.. So We're Going to the Finals??

And I thought the Giants had a better chance beating the Pats two years ago haha.. Well I'm going to have to be a little brief on this one cause I'm practically out the door. I'm sure everyone knows that the US took out Spain today 2-0.. and I have a couple things I'd like to touch on.

First, we defended like we had 3 testicles and the play of Rico and Jay... simply out of this world.. Rico Clark was EVERYWHERE. We were first to every ball in the box and never gave up on anything. When they did break through with a shot or the ball... Timmy was there to save the day.

Secondly.... I don't think Lando had a bad touch for the entire game...??

Thirdly, thank you Sergio Ramos.... hahahahahahahahahah the look on his face was absolutely PRICELESS when Dempsey put that one home hahaha!!

Also, though he came out I thought Charlie Davies played out of his mind also for the time he was on the field. He was a little worn out towards the end but he worked his ass off and well that's all we can really ask for.

And for some awards.. I'll give the Man of the match to Rico Clark.. disagree w/ me please.. thanks.. and the Joe Bulak BEAST Moment of The Game goes to Jozy when he flicked his pinkie and threw Capdevila off of is back and ripped (a horrible shot might I add) it home for the us.

Oh yeah and for some closing words... I think the refs are out to get us.. there were two offside calls late in the game one on Jozy and the other on Connor.. THEY WERE NOT OFFSIDE! and What did Bradley do to earn that red?? I need to get another look maybe i'm wrong.. but I didnt see ANYTHING that desirved a straight red... and its not like he was consistantly fouling the entire game... I dunno.. just something to think about is all...

Well on a brighter note this game gives me an excuse to get black out drunk tonight!!! yyaayy

GO USA!!!

Thoughts Before Wed....

Well first off, wtf happened yesterday... jesus. Well I can tell you one thing.. Eric Wynalda's facebook was surely the reason why we played so well haha. But first, hats off to the boys.. they showed that we really do know how to play footy, and that we could finally score during the run of play.

But lets get down to brass tacks. Now that we got in on the slimmest of margins and attaining the least amount of points possible to get a bid into the second round, we get to face the best team in the world. I'm not going to say we can't pull this one out of our, yup, but we have just as much of a chance to beat Spain as we did to qualify for the mini knockout stage. But lets look at the bright side--> We get to play 2 more games against teams that aren't in our region, Charlie Davies showed that we can actually effing work to score a goal (though it was really ugly.. it counts the same on the score board), and Rossi's going home while we're still playing. I'm excited to see what we can pull off against Spain, one thing's for sure... I'm gunna be eatin me some buffalo chicken wings during the game. Well after the most useless post in the history of posts on the blog I'll leave you with this.....

NSR: New Wale "Back to The Feature" Mixtape

Brand new long-awaited mixtape from Wale. Download it HERE.

Some Thoughts Before the Trip Home

Well here we sit broken hearted paid a nickle and (only farted?) haven't scored a goal in the run of play in 4 games.

Well its clear that we're not going to beat Egypt by a score of 3-0, and I honestly don't think Brazil will tally more then 3 against Italy. So lets put this game into perspective, this is a game to see who wants to step up. If you're going to play a player like Beasley who has done nothing lately. Why not play Adu? Though he's done nothing for his club or the national team, he's in the same boat as beasley. So I say we give Freddy a run. Next we should send Clint home, let him rest and gather his thoughts and give someone else a run out there. In the back.. lets just keep it that way.. maybe exchange Heath for Johnny. Back to the midfield I'd start Lando and Jozy just in case everyone is magically in form and we run away in the first half. But if that's not the case I would bring in Charlie Davies and Torres.

Oh yeah.. and maybe we could use a game plan specific to a team we're playing against and not just throw players out there and say "play our game"... cause sometimes you need to change your game to win.... but I'll leave that one up to bob-o. and I say this because... after watching the latest action packed games it doesn't seem like we're going out with a game plan. It just seems like he's saying go out there and defend like this and nothing else.

If you watched the Brazil game it was clear what their game plan was.. if you missed it you should never watch a soccer game again.. maybe baseball's more your style. Anywho, Brazil attacked us where we were weakest, our left back. They attacked and attacked as though it was the only way they had a chance of scoring a goal. I just think if we had some if any sort of game plan moving forward we'd have a chance at scoring during the run of play... well I'm done ranting.. if I pissed you off I'll leave you something to make you laugh.. also... thoughts? I'd be nice to have some feedback every now and then...

On a Brighter Note..

At least we didn't let a goal up like this today....

Still Have a Prayer

Well after another amazing coaching display by Bob-O the US still has a mathematical chance of making it to the second round of the Confederations Cup. With the US at the bottom of the group at a strong -5 goal differential, they need to beat Egypt by a tally of 3-0. That's not it though... we also need Brazil to take out Italy 4-0 to progress by goal differential. Humm..... something tells me that's not going to happen.

Today's game lacked in many places, but what gave up the game is our coaching. I'm not some amazing coach (but I'd prolly be a good one) but coaching the national team isn't about what have you done for me, its more of a matter of what are you doing for me. Well Beasley falls into that category heavily.. WTF has he done at a professional level in the past year. He got hurt and doesn't play for Rangers' first team any more... that about sums it up.. so why the hell is he still starting for the USMNT? god knows. And secondly, why start Sacha? I can't take it away from the kid he did have a great year last year. But lets be serious, he's not in that kind of form anymore, no where near it. Why not give Torres a run, he's been pretty damn consistent and on top of that he was the best player on the pitch when the US played Costa Rica, before bob took him out at half time. He's not the biggest or the strongest guy in the world. BUT HE'S COMPOSED on and off the ball. I dunno maybe its just me..... Thoughts?

I'm gunna go watch some WPS...

I miss you Boca...
