Some Thoughts Before the Trip Home
Well here we sit broken hearted paid a nickle and (only farted?) haven't scored a goal in the run of play in 4 games.
Well its clear that we're not going to beat Egypt by a score of 3-0, and I honestly don't think Brazil will tally more then 3 against Italy. So lets put this game into perspective, this is a game to see who wants to step up. If you're going to play a player like Beasley who has done nothing lately. Why not play Adu? Though he's done nothing for his club or the national team, he's in the same boat as beasley. So I say we give Freddy a run. Next we should send Clint home, let him rest and gather his thoughts and give someone else a run out there. In the back.. lets just keep it that way.. maybe exchange Heath for Johnny. Back to the midfield I'd start Lando and Jozy just in case everyone is magically in form and we run away in the first half. But if that's not the case I would bring in Charlie Davies and Torres.
Oh yeah.. and maybe we could use a game plan specific to a team we're playing against and not just throw players out there and say "play our game"... cause sometimes you need to change your game to win.... but I'll leave that one up to bob-o. and I say this because... after watching the latest action packed games it doesn't seem like we're going out with a game plan. It just seems like he's saying go out there and defend like this and nothing else.
If you watched the Brazil game it was clear what their game plan was.. if you missed it you should never watch a soccer game again.. maybe baseball's more your style. Anywho, Brazil attacked us where we were weakest, our left back. They attacked and attacked as though it was the only way they had a chance of scoring a goal. I just think if we had some if any sort of game plan moving forward we'd have a chance at scoring during the run of play... well I'm done ranting.. if I pissed you off I'll leave you something to make you laugh.. also... thoughts? I'd be nice to have some feedback every now and then...

Still Have a Prayer
Well after another amazing coaching display by Bob-O the US still has a mathematical chance of making it to the second round of the Confederations Cup. With the US at the bottom of the group at a strong -5 goal differential, they need to beat Egypt by a tally of 3-0. That's not it though... we also need Brazil to take out Italy 4-0 to progress by goal differential. Humm..... something tells me that's not going to happen.
Today's game lacked in many places, but what gave up the game is our coaching. I'm not some amazing coach (but I'd prolly be a good one) but coaching the national team isn't about what have you done for me, its more of a matter of what are you doing for me. Well Beasley falls into that category heavily.. WTF has he done at a professional level in the past year. He got hurt and doesn't play for Rangers' first team any more... that about sums it up.. so why the hell is he still starting for the USMNT? god knows. And secondly, why start Sacha? I can't take it away from the kid he did have a great year last year. But lets be serious, he's not in that kind of form anymore, no where near it. Why not give Torres a run, he's been pretty damn consistent and on top of that he was the best player on the pitch when the US played Costa Rica, before bob took him out at half time. He's not the biggest or the strongest guy in the world. BUT HE'S COMPOSED on and off the ball. I dunno maybe its just me..... Thoughts?
I'm gunna go watch some WPS...
I miss you Boca...

6 Match Ban for Drogba

Remember this?? So yea, Drogba was banned for 6 matches for berating the ref after that controversial champions league game. Personally I think this was one of the greatest flip-outs of all time. But not better than Cantona destroying someone in the front row:

NSR: New Mos Def
Just writing this to let anybody who's a fan of Mos Def, or real hip-hop, that his new album came out last week and it is definitely his best since the classic Black on Both Sides. So if your a fan of Mos, Blackstar and other good hip-hop, I definitely recommend checking out this album immediately.
Where Will Ribery Go???
According to soccernet.com, it seems Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery is very much in demand these days. Supposedly Chelsea, Barcelona, and Manchester United have all tabled bids for his services, with Real Madrid possibly doing the same. Personally i'd like to see him go to Barcelona because then it will be even more fun to watch them destroy teams 200-1 with their beautiful passing game. Don't really want him to go to the EPL though, cause then I'll have to watch him tear up my baby gunners 4 times a year.I'll leave with a highlight tape of his so the uninformed can know what type of skill these teams would be paying for...........enjoy:
