2006 MLS defender of the year Bobby Boswell, was traded to back to back MLS champs Houston Dynamo for their backup goalkeeper Zach Wells and a 2009 pick. Boswell dropped off in form this year and his defensive mistakes will be missed by me and other Red Bulls fans as they cost DC points, and thats always a nice thing to see as a RB fan. In Zach Wells DCU is getting a starting quality goalkeeper whose salary is alot less than Troy Perkins'(who is supposedly heading to Norway), clearing cap room for some player additions down the road. All this is happening while the Red Bulls sit idly, not making any changes to a team that crashed out of the playoffs again for about the 75th year in a row......and speaking of the Red Bulls, when is construction on Red Bull Park going to start? Honestly, this is getting old people.Thursday, December 13, 2007
Boswell Traded to Champs; Perkins on His Way To Norway?

Bad Refereeing In the Other Football
This weeks bad refereeing comes to you courtesy of Ron Cherry, the worst college football ref there is. The man responsible for ruining plenty of ACC games by himself came up with an interesting call a couple of weeks ago that I thought I should share with everybody.......enjoy.
Red Bulls Hire Osorio to Make Bad Decisions In NY Instead of Chicago
As announced on SBI, the Red Bulls have officially come to terms with the Chicago Fire's Juan Carlos Osorio, and he should be announced as the 10,000th coach in Red Bulls/Metros history in the coming days. Personally I only like this move because: 1. We finally have a coach and can start acquiring players, something Osorio isnt that bad at(Case in point: Wilman Conde)....And 2. He might actually get this team to play defense which actually resembles that of keeping the ball out of the net. Unfortunately this is the man also responsible for ruining the Fire's playoff hopes by leaving Paulo Wanchope in the game, when the man has the touch of a freakin wrecking ball. Hopefully Osorio inspires this team to aim for shutouts, as thats the only thing us Red Bull fans have to look forward to........the only creativity within the Fire's game came from Cuau Blanco, and im pretty sure we dont have a midfielder of that caliber......But wait? we have Claudio Reyna right? hes good...............Saturday, December 8, 2007
Aaaand were back.......
It's been a long time folks...........i've been gone for a while and missed a few things. The Dynamo won the cup.........again. RSL's version of bridgeview stadium is coming along nicely.....and DC looks set to sign Juan Sebastian Veron and lose Christian Gomez. But ultimately none of this matters one bit to me because the Red Bulls lost in the playoffs again. I think we all knew it was over when the player who nobody likes, Jay Heaps, managed to almost drive his knee straight through Juan Pablo Angel's skull, giving him a concussion......But i can honestly say that i wasn't pissed as that as i was at the waste of space Claudio Reyna has become whenever he steps on the field. If he isnt willing to re-negotiate his contract to that of a developmental players, then he should accept a buyout because he is really killing this team now. Yes, he does the "little things" well, but im sure that fans would appreciate a dash of "big things" now and then like, I dont know..............how about assists maybe? Goals would be appreciated too, Claudio.

US Keeps Things Interesting For 80 Minutes; Puts In A Good Showing
The US lost 4-2 to the Samba Boys yesterday in a friendly game which was billed as the "Clash of Champions," or at least I think that was the overstatement they used to promote the game........but anyway, my hat goes off to the Nats who put in a valiant performance and actually played some good futbol throughout the game. You could really see that Deuce's fine form of play recently in the EPL has transitioned nicely over to the international stage, and you just have to feel bad for Onyewu who continues to shoot himself in the foot regarding his starting position. Personally I think Onyewu's starting position in central defense isn't set in stone just because hes an 80 foot herculean man-beast compared to the other players. Honestly I don't believe anybody on the back line has a safe spot except for Cherundolo who played well again yesterday. What do you think about the Nats performance yesterday? Is it a good sign for the future?Wednesday, September 5, 2007
Its An All MLS Final

In a shocking turn of events both MLS teams won their open cup semifinal games last night, making it an all MLS open cup final. I say this was shocking because most of the MLS teams in this tournament were dropping like flies, or getting annihilated like the Rapids did against the Seattle Sounders. Looking at the game recap it looks like both teams took these games seriously as they both had their full strength lineups on the field. We all know the final is going to be an exciting game, but the real question is......................if an exciting cup final is played and nobody's there to see it, does it really matter?

US Unveils Roster For Brazil Game; Will Try To Keep Within 5 Goals
The US Mens National Team has named its roster for the friendly against a full strength Brazil squad on Sunday. Thankfully Bob Bradley chose to bring in a full strength roster for the friendly match in Chicago, because if he chose anything less we might have seen a slaughtering of Louisville vs Murray State proportions on Sunday. Personally I think if the US plays good team defense and actually finishes chances a normal pub team player could make, they have a chance to take one from the samba boys. What do you think? Can the US team pull off the upset, or will it be an ugly day at soldier field for the nats?
